A terroir

Château de Parenchère rises in the heart of a green and hilly landscape situated 38 km from Saint-Emilion, at the crossroads of the Gironde and the Dordogne departments.
It therefore benefits from a very particular Terroir in Bordeaux, composed of clay-limestone with a high clay content, which partly explains the strength of the wines produced on the vineyard.

On this vast estate of 188 HA, only the best plots on hillsides have been selected to constitute a beautiful vineyard of 69 HA of which the oldest vines are over 50 years old.

An expertise

But this beautiful terroir would be unmeaning if it were not served by an attentive and meticulous team that is committed to constantly raising the quality of the wines.

The Château has adopted a policy of “Sustainable Agriculture” for a policy of quality and respect for the environment.

The estate is today certified High Environmental Value – level 3 (the highest level of qualification).

Our practices are primarily designed to protect the soil. They include growing grass between the rows, traditional tilling, sparing applications of pesticides and organic fertilizers restrained to the strictest need of the vine.

This quality policy is consequently translated into carefully controlled yields, a key element in our quest for quality.

Wines of exception

Whether red, rosé or white, Parenchère wines have managed to rise as a quality benchmark at international level.
